CRF2-J Ultrasonic Fogger

A compact, water-based ultrasonic fogger for localized airflow visualization where a small footprint and controlled delivery path are priorities.

Where this model fits

CRF2-J is the compact end of the featured CRF line. It is a starting point for fume hoods, airflow hoods, smaller glove boxes, small biosafety cabinets and localized test points where a larger fog source would add unnecessary output or handling burden.

Technology and working inputs

The CRF2-J uses ultrasonic piezo devices with approved water inputs such as DI water or WFI. It is not a liquid-nitrogen fogger. The compact output is useful only when the planned hose path and pressure relationship do not consume the available delivery margin.

Typical application lanes

  • Fume hoods and laminar-flow work areas
  • Small glove boxes and localized enclosures
  • Small biosafety cabinets where the approved procedure permits
  • Training, engineering and airflow-demonstration work
  • Short-route smoke-study setups

Selection discipline

Select CRF2-J when the study is truly localized. Move to CRF3 or CRF6 when the route is longer, the pressure differential is more demanding, the visible field is broader or more fog distribution is required.

Primary sizing risk Long or restrictive hose routes and pressure resistance
Quote inputs Space dimensions, pressure, hose route, required visual field and accessories

Do not size by room volume alone

Delivery geometry can matter more than the nameplate

Hose diameter, length, bends, reducers, elevation, outlet fixtures and enclosure pressure can materially change delivered fog. The selector narrows the starting model; the RFQ must describe the actual route.

Frequently asked questions

Commercial and specification questions

The selector and page content narrow the requirement. The formal quotation confirms the current configuration, commercial terms and included documentation.

Is CRF2-J an LN₂ fogger?

No. It is a compact ultrasonic water-based fogging system.

When should CRF3 be evaluated instead?

Evaluate CRF3 when the application needs more portable ultrasonic output, a broader visible field or more delivery margin.

Can CRF2-J be used outside an enclosure with a hose?

Potentially, but the full route and pressure relationship must be reviewed because a compact system has less margin for restriction.

Does the model itself make a smoke study compliant?

No. The equipment supports visualization; the governing procedure, operating state, interventions, evidence and approval determine the study.
