They do not establish that GSE has authority to sell a product, that a model is available in the buyer’s territory, or that a historical accessory remains compatible. The current written quotation must identify the manufacturer, exact model, options, supplying party and quotation scope.

What you can expect from GSE

A useful sourcing response should distinguish the requested model from any proposed alternative, identify the configuration being quoted, state what is included and excluded, identify the seller and warranty path, and separate confirmed facts from assumptions requiring buyer approval. It should also identify any software, calibration, consumables, accessories, installation or validation services needed to make the equipment usable.

Alternative and replacement control

Similarity is not equivalency. When an exact model is unavailable or commercially ineligible, any alternative should be mapped against the buyer’s mandatory performance, interface, documentation, calibration, environmental and lifecycle requirements. GSE does not substitute a manufacturer or model merely because the category label sounds similar.

How to submit a strong request

Attach the incumbent data sheet, manual, specification, sampling plan, facility interface requirement, certificate requirement and acceptance criteria when available. State the ship-to country, quantity, required-on-site date and whether alternatives are allowed. Redact information you are not authorized to share; submitting the public RFQ form does not create an NDA.
